DRAGONFEST

Celebrating its landmark 20th anniversary, Dragonfest serves as the Martial Arts History Museum’s premier cultural odyssey—a vibrant tapestry of Asian heritage designed to illuminate the profound artistry and philosophies that have shaped generations. At its heart, the event acts as a bridge of understanding, inviting the community to move beyond the surface of martial arts and immerse themselves in the living soul of these ancient traditions.

The festival floor breathes life into history through a sensory journey of movement and sound. Attendees are swept up in the festive energy of Chinese Lion Dancing, a ritual of luck and lineage that has warded off negativity for centuries. The atmosphere vibrates with the thunderous, disciplined pulse of Taiko Drumming, representing the communal heartbeat of Japan, while the storytelling grace of Okinawan Dancing offers a window into the peaceful, elegant heritage of the islands.

Every contribution to this fundraising event goes directly toward the museum’s mission in Glendale. By celebrating the uniqueness of these diverse customs, we ensure that the spirit of cultural discovery and the preservation of these ancient legacies continue to thrive for the next twenty years.

The Glendale Civic Auditorium doesn’t have many hotels nearby. The closest hotel is the GLENDALE EXPRESS HOTEL. They are about 5 minutes from the auditorium. It is only about 10 minutes from the Burbank Airport.

As the only institution of its kind in the world, the Martial Arts History Museum serves as a living sanctuary for the art, history, and enduring traditions of the East. We believe that martial arts are more than just techniques of the body; they are a profound cultural language that allows us to build a transformative bridge between East and West.

By weaving together the stories of ancient heritage and modern influence, we aim to dismantle the walls of prejudice and racism. Our mission is to illuminate the immense positive contributions of the Asian American community, replacing misconceptions with a deep, authentic understanding of our shared humanity. Through every exhibit and performance, we celebrate a legacy of resilience and creativity, inviting the world to experience the beauty of a culture that continues to shape our global history.

The museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization so your booth purchases, sponsorships and tickets sales are tax-deductible.
