Creating the first Museum dedicated to the martial arts is not an easy task. “Giving back” are powerful words, but they are only words if action is not applied. We are very proud to have many wonderful people from the community who have taken action and are part of supporting the Museum.

Michael Matsuda, Museum president
Founder and former publisher of Martial Art Magazine, Michael holds a degree in business management, journalism and certificate in art design. He has attended The Master’s College, USC, CSUN and the American Film Institute. He has authored five published books, served as a designer and production manager a number of advertising firms and worked as the head of the Media Dept. for Blue Cross of California. He was selected twice as one of the Top 100 Producers in America by Producer magazine and graced its cover. He has served as a contributing editor for 20 years for both Black Belt and Inside Kung Fu magazine. He founded the Martial Arts History Museum in 1999 and was director of the San Fernando Valley Health Fair, the Las Vegas Starbash convention, the Dragonfest convention and more. He has produced three karate championships and has a heavy background in marketing, research and media communications. He has been involved in putting together a number of charitable programs including Martial Arts for Save The Children Foundation, numerous blood drive campaigns, the Tsunami Relief Fund campaign and more.
Art Camacho, film director
Film production president and action film director, Art Camacho has served on the Museum board since its beginning. He is an award-winning director and head of his own production firm. With over a dozen films under his direction, he also served as stunt coordinator for numerous productions.
Rafael Kosche, store owner, History Channel representative
Kosche is owner and operator of the most influential martial arts supply company in America. Established in the 1970s, Valley Martial Arts Supplies has served both the martial arts community and the Hollywood film industry. He is an established representative for The History Channel, A&E, Ancient Aliens and Auction Kings.
JD Bowles, president, iPRsoftware / NewMediaWire
Bowles served as vice-president of the Los Angeles Times newspaper for over a decade. He was also appointed as vice-president of the marketing network of PR WEB. Today, he serves as the president an CEO of a highly established marketing company. He has served as a Museum board member since 2011.
Fariborz Azhakh, president, Martialinfo.com, Team Karate Centers
Azhakh is one of the founding members of the Museum. He is the founder and CEO of one of the largest martial arts website in the world, Martialinfo.com. He is also chief instructor of the most successful and largest martial arts school in Southern California. He has served on the Museum board since 2012.
