Who can enjoy the Museum?
Our goal is to make the Museum fun for both men and women, boys and girls. Yes, there is the punch and kick aspect of the Museum, but more importantly, there is history, artistry and more. It is a glimpse into Asian history and the positive influence the martial arts has had on the West. It is a look at how the martial arts plays a unique role in culture and tradition. It’s about learning about other peoples and understanding past generations.
The Museum provides a self-guided tour and if you read and watch all the videos, it will take a minimum of 40 minutes (some people have taken 3 hours). Flash photography and videos are permitted and encouraged in the Museum. You will learn about things you never imagined.
The Museum is an excellent place for large groups and special visitations. From martial arts schools, unified school districts and home schools, the Museum has so much to offer and kids have a fun time actually learning about history.
There is a SPECIAL RATE for large groups of 20 individuals or more. The Museum can hold up to 100 visitors at a time. Large group visitation includes docent tours, fun scavenger hunts and a place to eat if they bring their lunch. Group tours usually last 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. Please notify the Museum at least 2 weeks in advance of your visit.
This is a great activity for any martial arts school. This is not a who’s who nor do we focus heavily on a specific art, we provide enough information to reveal the history and creation of the arts and their impact on America. It’s a great field trip and the kids have a blast!
